Week 2 completed this morning and I'm feeling great. Actually looking forwards to Tuesday when I start week 3 but already wondering if I can step up to 3 minutes?! Has anyone else had these thoughts and how was it for you?
Thanks

Great stuff herbiechapman! I bet you feel amazing? You should! This programme knows what it's doing and you are already prepared for week 3, whether you realise it or not. Just keep it nice and slow and you will get through it Keep us posted!
Edited to add: Yes I have had doubts about my ability to move forward in the programme all the way through(take a look at my post for week 3) ..yet here I am
I've been as arround on this community for a while and the consensus us:
Trust the programme
Don't go too fast
Keep going and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Don't worried Herbie, everybody has those thoughts! You'll be fine, just trust Laura and the programme. Slow and steady is the mantra at this stage of the game. Good luck
Yep, we all had those thoughts, but believe in yourself and the programme, it is well planned to build your strength and stamina.....so that you can move on. Don't get me wrong, it's not all easy, you may find you need to repeat runs or weeks....I certainly had to repeat 6. But you can do it.....slow and steady is the key and believe in yourself.....you will love yourself for doing this and will soon be just as obsessive about running as the rest of us. Good luck and let us know how you go.
You can read through the various week 3 posts to give you other people's thoughts on it
I think we've all had doubts along the way but here we all are - addicted to running and loving it. You will be fine - nice and steady is the way. Good luck
I will be doin few week 2 run 3 tomorrow and by next Sunday will have finished week 3. I am struggling with some calf pain but I have read this is because I could be doing hill work so I am gonna switch to a flat run tomorrow. See if it makes a difference. And try some calf stretches today. Can I ask do people do stretches after their warm up or just at the end of the run??
I have only done flat runs as I knew anything with an incline would be painful! I haven't done stretches as I am finding that the 5 minute walks before and after are doing the trick. Good luck on the flat, I am sure it will be positive for you
Follow the advice and you will be fine, but I would seriously recommend stretching after your runs nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/... You will be putting a strain on and developing your body, in a way that it may not be used to. Stretching realigns muscles and helps you avoid injury. It seems like a palaver but very soon becomes part of your routine.
Good luck.
Haha in weeks one and two I didn't wonder if I could do it, I was asking myself "Why on earth am I doing this"?!? I used to come home puffing and panting and sweating (yes I said that) like I had run for miles and miles, it felt like it too. But by week 3 I was settling down, my breathing got easier my legs got used to the huge demands I was asking of them. If it takes a while at a slow pace then so be it Herbie and as for hills well I avoided them for quite a long time, flat running was my thing. But hills and speed can wait for now just finish the 9 weeks which you will do like thousands have, because they have trusted in the programme and themselves. Good luck.
I always stretch after exercise but when doing classes I usually stretch after the warm up too. Wondered if people did this after the 5 minute warm up too. ? Gonna try do do calf stretches on my rest day too. See how the flat goes tomorrow
Oh yes, I certainly worried about doing 3 minutes. It was a shock to me how much I struggled with one minute to be honest, and even after finishing that week and finding a minute hard, and then a minute and a half the week after, I thought I would never manage 3. It was really hard for me but I think that the end of week 3 was when I began to think achieving 30 mins was actually possible. Here I am having done week 7 run 1 this morning - that's 25 minutes. It was hard, but I did it and so can you!
just started week 3 amazed at being able to do it never thought I would get this far but am actually missing it on my rest days! what has happened to the old me?
