First run in a fortnight. Despite taking my gear on hols, it was just too hot to do any running (zero motivation to do so and some small glasses of the local sicilian vino may have been the real reason :O )

I planned a nice slow 20 minute run, just to see how much my fitness has dropped off. Had to say I was pleasantly surprised. After 10 mins I intended to head back but was quite enjoying myself so pushed to 15 before turning.

A nice wee 5k in 27-28 mins or so. Very enjoyable. I was kind of dreading the run as I had a feeling my fitness would have fallen away substantially. Coupled with a weight gain of around 6lbs (damn that tasty little restaurant) I did expect a struggle.

Just goes to show you. The programme builds in fitness that takes a while to destroy. That old couch me seems to have been finally put to rest.

Happy running folks.
