Just added up all my runs since I started C25K in early July last year and realised that about a week or so ago, I passed 800km, so that's 500 miles in under a year!
I hadn't run an inch before that! This past year has seen me:
- Complete C25K
- Be able to run a 5k competently and now regularly under 30 minutes
- Be able to run regularly and enjoy it
- Be able to run 10 to 14k when I'm in the mood (and I'm in the mood more and more lately)
- Run longer distances with preparation including my first half marathon
- Look half decent in day-glo sports gear
- Form an altogether too-close relationship with my Garmin Forerunner
and probably most importantly, maintain the 50 pound weight loss I achieved through sensible eating (Weightwatchers) assisted by C25K.
A big thanks to all of you for your inspiration. I'm looking forward to lots more running in year 2!

That is fantastic. What a lot of achievements in less than a year. At this point I am just focussing on doing the C25K, but I haven't given beyond that any thought. It would be great if I could at least achieve the regular 5K under 30 minutes.
Thank you. When you say "at least" the regular 5k in under 30 minutes, I would say for me that was the hardest of the lot. Funnily enough, I now find running a longer distance at a slower pace far more enjoyable.
The second hardest was the day-glo sports gear which is merely personal opinion and hotly disputed by some members of my family....
Oh yes, I don't think for a minute it will be an easy task and especially when I'm not even half way through C25K but it does sound like the sort of achievement I would truly feel proud of.
I am also in awe of the the day glo look, but I will settle for plain grey running leggings and top for now.
When you get there - and you will get there - you will rightly feel very proud. However, you are missing a trick if you don't try the hi-vis yellow socks and blue/black running tights. You'll never get another chance .
