Go to play.google.com/store/apps/... It is called Change4Life C25k but is based on the NHS C25k programme which you can also access through MP3 podcasts at nhs.uk/livewell/c25k/Pages/...
It is a brilliant training plan and we on this forum will support and advise all the way. Good luck.
If you want the podcasts with Laura and its own music to run to - it's excellent as it gives you a beat to keep in time to - then go to nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/... and download the mp3 files to your computer, then transfer the files to your android phone as you would any other music files. I then started a playlist called Running on my phone and transferred all the podcasts onto it. Simples!
Thank you both.Iannoda, unfortunately the first one doesn't work any more, for the others it seems I must download ITunes first.. doing that now!
So far I have a programme that beeps/vibrates when it's time to slow down/speed up, but as the intervals get longer I thought it would be useful to know that I should still be running, not that the programme has stopped working lol XXX
I am such a technophobe... got the podcasts onto my computer... how to get them onto the phone? Gingernut says "as you would any other music files" but I've never done that....
I had to move them from "downloads" into "music" on the computer, before they would agree to be copied onto the phone. In all cases it was drag & drop just like any other file. You don't need itunes if you're using an android phone.
Another thing I've found is that it's worth switching off "mobile downloads" on the phone while running, otherwise you get a break in the music & an irritating beep every time a message comes in. In fact I sometimes switch on "airplane mode" so that I can't be interrupted by a phoine call either. Running is MY time.
I must be doing something wrong... drag and drop to WHERE? I thought if I attached my phone to the desk top using the USB cable it would show as an external drive but it doesn't....Thanks for the advice about turning off mobile downloads, I'll remember that!
Well, I managed it! I went direct to the NHS site from my phone and downloaded them straight to my phone...dunno why I thought it was neccessary to put them on the desk top first.. told you I'm a technophobe!
Just finished my first run with Laura, it certainly does help, but for some reason "Map my run" didn't map anything...never mind, I completed my run - week 4 next time!
