I completed week 5 last week and whilst I ran the 20 minutes with little difficulty, I took the podcast ladys advice and am re-doing week 5 just to help build myself up a bit more. I do not see the point in rushing the programme and feel this will help me in the long term.
Am really enjoying the programme and enjoy reading everyones posts. keep up the great work

Well done for completing week 5. Repeat runs as much as you need to to feel confident about moving on. But sometimes you might just surprise yourself thinking you are not ready when in fact you are, a large part of the battle is mental.
When you are ready to move on treat week 6 with respect, you go back to intervals for the first two runs and for some reason it seems most people find it a hard week, I know I did, but you can do. Just follow the podcasts and do pop back here and let us know how you are doing and ask any questions you need to.
I know posting my journey on here and having such fab feedback has certainly helped me to keep going.
Good luck
Well done on completing week 5... and absolutely no shame in repeating it if you don't feel ready for week 6. Having said that, why not give it a go? You may just surprise yourself.... And if you don't? Who cares... you can go back to W5 if you want or just try W6R1 again... it's just you and the road (it's not a race) so do whatever makes you get out there and running...
I look forward to hearing all about your next few runs... these are some BIG milestones being passed!
And welcome to to forum... I've found them a friendly bunch with loads of advice!!
Welcome Gareth and good luck. the others have said it all. There is nothing wrong with taking your time to build up your stamina as you will hopefully be running for the rest of your life. However, if you managed W5 fairly easily though, you should have no problem with the challenge of W6. Just treat each run with respect and enjoy it. I think your approach will benefit you in the long run........or do I mean for the long run.
Welcome to this great community. You'll get loads of support here so please keep posting and tell us how you're getting on. You've done really well in starting and in getting this far. Enjoy the journey!
If you feel happier repeating week 5 then all power to you. When you are ready to embark on week 6 please treat it with extreme caution - the return to intervals after the euphoria of the 20 minute run in week 5 is no soft option. Keep the runs in week 6 very slow (or even slower than that), very steady, stay calm and this will see you through fine. Good luck with your next run and best wishes.
