Before reading this, I had no idea that others had the same problem as me - first few mins my mind just says stop stop stop! I had it at week 3 and now again on week 4, but my body can do better than my brain thinks it can. Very strange., but gratifying.

Oh yes, absolutely! I am now up to 10k but I often get an almost overwhelming urge to stop after only about 300m, Its as if various parts of my body are saying 'what are you doing, stop this now'. If I am running on my own I would say I ALWAYS get this urge to stop (possibly because I start off much faster). However if I keep going I do eventually settle into a rhythm where I am not really thinking about it. I don't think I am 'in the zone' quite but I may be getting there slowly.
A thought that I have had many times is that if I didn't know I could run so much further then I would definitely stop. I think that is one of the miracles of the C25K programme - that by building up slowly you learn that you can actually do something that you previously thought impossible, even if you body still thinks its impossible...
Yes. That's why it's so useful to have a voice in your ear to tell you what to do. It drowns out the voice in your head!
