Hi, my knees seem to have become more achy the further along in the programme I have got (currently w7r2). They don't hurt to the touch and are not swollen but I am stiff when using stairs or bending them in my job (with little children). Do you think it is still okay to run (again they aren't painfully running either) ?????

Achy knees
Did my w7r3 last night and my knees were okay during the run - I'm just so stiff and achy the rest of the time.
Any suggestions?
Are you stretching out after each run? Maybe book in a sports massage to help if you haven't been.
I have the same problem and I don't think there's an easy answer! My knees don't hurt when I run, either, but I run with knee supports, which help a bit. I went to the Doc a couple of years back when I started to exercise generally (I do Zumba twice a week, too, which REALLY makes them ache, but I'm not giving that up, no way, no how, love it!!) and it was a bit "chocolate teapot" - she fiddled with my knee cap and made a few humming noises and said "take it easy" - not terribly helpful! There are some knee strengthening exercises on the NHS website which might help - here's the link nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/... . My knees have definitely got stronger over time, though, so don't give up, just don't push it too much! Good luck!
My knee - well, the part of my leg behind my right knee has gotten sore and a bit swollen and feels 'tight' when I walk. I have been doing some stretches for hamstrings and some icing but it hasn't helped yet!
@fitnfiftyish - thanks for the link to the knee exercises though doing a full workout of all of them would take some time lol
I get the same thing but just in one knee (must be hopping instead of jogging). Last night I did the usual stretches after running W6R1, but not so vigorously, and my knee feels a lot better. I can still feel a little stiffness/achyness, but it's nowhere near what I felt like after W5R3.
Thanks, I've seen the knee exercises before, but have printed them out and I am planning on sticking them up in different locations around the house so that I can try and do them during the course of the day. My knees have bothered me for years, but only when I've run (did power-praming a few years back and recall having the issue then, and I only ran 1-2x a week then) and I have also been doing Zumba 2x a week for the last 18 months but sadly my instructor's last class was this week and haven't found a new one yet (got a feeling I won't)
