newbie: just starting out on week 1 tomorrow... - Couch to 5K
newbie
Hi. Yep, after a couple of false starts, my C25K journey begins today.
Kit laid out, MP3 fully charged (!), no more excuses!
Good luck with your run
It does seem like i only just started but i begin week 5 tomorrow evening, it goes so quck! Good luck to you and also to you Rowlie
Savanna and I have started wk1 together this week, run 2 completed today. Best of luck and let us know your progress.
The moment you set foot outside the door and take your first tentative steps, you are a runner. Not a would-be, couch runner, but a fully fledged runner.
Some time ago I thought I would never be able to run, but here I am as a grad. I used to watch triathlons, marathons and the like on TV, but last weekend I was marshaling at night run on Dartmoor and next time I may just be in it properly.
Good luck with the running and remember to take it easy, follow advice and please, please, please, if you only take two bits of advice they would be to stretch after every run, and make sure you do take the rest days, even if you are itching to get out.
Spring is absolutely the best time to be starting, and today the sun is shining and the birds singing.
Good luck with your C25k journey - keep us posted in how it's going
thanks everyone, ill keep u all posted, and good luck to u's also
Hi. I am on week 1 too - I did my first jaunt out the other day, so this was day 2 for me. Well done for psyching yourself up to do the couch 2 5k challenge. I'd had it on my mind to do it for a while, but I kept letting things get in the way. I felt so good after my 1st run/walk. I think because I suddenly felt in control and at the start of something really positive. Having just come in from number 2 run (not in my wellies this time!) I can honestly say I feel better, fitter and buoyed up already. Let us know how you feel after your run. And good luck!
I'm starting week 1, run 1 tonight when I get home eek!!!
You are about to embark on something truly amazing, it will be tough, but I have never heard of anyone who has regretted it.
Just one thing. The two things Sallycycle said are so true, so, so ,so true. Stick to them and the plan and you will be fine.
thats me just back, it was raining but im so glad for the rain as im still roasted even with it lol, i enjoyed it, kinda struggled on the last run but i pulled thorghu, i normally cant run the length of me haha
I'm going for my first run this morning. Been meaning to start running for years but have suffered with pain in my shins when I've tried. I'm hoping the program, new running shoes and sunshine will do the trick.
I really enjoyed it. Felt fine on the cardio side but my shins were pretty sore. Hope your run 3 went well.
