First ever park run.... 32.01!!! :D

Hey. I plucked up the guts and went for it this morning! Completed my first ever park run in 32.01 although i did walk for a couple minutes in the middle but that was more of a mental challenge in my head as i'd left my pedometer @ home and i didn't like not knowing how far i had left to go. Was worth pushing myself tho and determined to run all of it next time and try and do it in under 30min. Have deffo caught the running bug and obsession, just struggling to try and control myself and not over do it. Am currently running 3-4times per week and swimming for an hour twice a week. thinking about trying some of the 10minute workouts on the NHS site as a bit of toning/muscle work. Have tried the srength and flex but wasnt very keen. Any suggestions??

Well done littlehelen! That's a great achievement I have a way to go before I'm anywhere near park runs, but it's definitely something I'm aiming for.

I'm trying Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred (you can get it on youtube, or DVD was cheap on amazon). It's 20 mins each day and has some good toning exercises. I'd started at new year and fell off the wagon when I went back to work, but have just started it again. In theory(!) should be easy to find 20mins a day to do it?! I'm trying to get back into my skinny jeans before my minibreak in 2 weeks!

Well done. That's a great time. I would keep doing what you are doing but as people say on here, don't over do it. Enjoy your new targets.

Ye am looking forward to it already tho am disappointed as I know I can't do it next Saturday as am busy :( Never thought i'd be disappointed about being not being able to go out running! I'll just have to crack on by myself in the week.

Wow I am seriously impressed! Registered and printed the bar code thingies off yesterday. Didn't have the courage to head out there today for a W9 R3 park run celebration / graduation. I will probably stick to my tried and tested local park for that tomorrow. Well done for having the guts to do it today littlehelen! Fab, inspiring stuff.
