What is wrong with my leg - really hoping it doesn't stop me from doing this.

I decided to see a physio after week one of C25K as whilst my right leg was completely fine during the run, my left leg felt much weaker yet the muscles felt really tight. As I run I can feel the top of my left leg tightening up and this feeling then travels down my leg to my shins.

The physio gave me exercises to try (last week of Dec) and I have been doing them religiously. She said something about my muscles being tight / one leg overcompensating for the other.

I also had my gait analysed before embarking on this and have an pronation on the left which my running shoes hopefully help with.

I see the physio again next week for another session but I just wonder how long this will go on for. I feel fine after my runs - no sensation at all in my right leg but my left feels throbby for most of the day afterwards.

I am the right weight for my height - but just getting back into exercising. I found my leg really achy after the week 3 run but don't want this to stop me as I am feeling great otherwise. If I keep trying will eventually the muscles loosen off?

All thoughts welcome. I've signed up for Race for Life so I am so determined to do this!

I'm going to ask a really dumb sounding question...are your legs the same length?

I had an osteopath spot I have about a 5mm difference and that makes me favour one leg over the other. With standing type activities, he advised me that a single orthotic insert might help me and if I'm going to do something like a day trip to London I do this. He felt with the running it was a bit more of a problem, because the orthotic would affect the shoe flexibility.
