New Brooks arrived Friday but blooming hip pain and a weekend camping in the Fens kept me from them until tonight! Thought I'd ease myself into them on the treadmill and see how the hip held out. 40 mins later I was still chugging away to a nice bit of Florence on my machine! All good. Like how stable they feel. Think I may stay on the mill till I've had my first pysio session on Friday. Pretty pleased not to be hobbling though!
Fun in new shoes!: New Brooks arrived Friday but... - Couch to 5K
Fun in new shoes!
Well done. I'm waiting to write 'fun' with my runs. Haha. I hope physio goes well. I presume they'll want to see you in your new shiny shoes.
Comfy feet make all the difference! Hope your hip feels better soon :). By the way, camping in January sounds hard core to me. One of my friends has the best take on camping I've ever heard: "I'll lie under the stars anytime...as long as there's 5 of them!" Happy running.
Hope your hip feels better soon
Well done. I still find it amazing that I now get excited about new running kit (specially shoes!) and can sanction myself spending far more on running shoes that I ever would on 'normal' footwear. Which shoes did you get? I am going to take part in the Brooks pure project running shoes trial (see their website) and can't wait to pick up my pure cadence 3s.
PS camping? In the Fens? In January? OMG. You must be tough.
Camping in the fens in January? That IS hardcore. Respect!
Aren't they great? I'm finding mine extremely solid and secure. If the hip keeps playing up, try rubbing a poultice of mashed cabbage, mint leaves and rabbit dung on it. Always works.........apparently.....
That's not a poultice, that's the recipe for my grandmother's cabbage, mint and rabbit dung soup!
Which Brooks are they? I have the Cascada (trail shoes) and they are as slippery as sin on the road, wet rock etc. Very comfortable and a great fit, but oh, so slippery!
That was sent too quickly ~ I meant to add that I hope you get better soon and are out on the roads etc in the very near future. Good luck with the physio ~ mine was a miracle worker!
