Shattered after running

I go for my runs at lunchtime. When I get back I have plenty of water and then I eat my lunch. Usually a sandwich and some fruit (3-4 pieces with at least one being a banana)

Trouble is, after about an hour I start to feel really tired and lethargic. I could really do with a kip but it's not really possible with work. I have a young baby, so the early mornings aren't helping matters.

I must need more food but what should I be eating that will give me energy that isn't a KitKat and a packet of Quavers?

  • I'm not an expert but I think you might need more protein and less carbs? Maybe try a mackerel or goat's cheese salad instead of a sandwich?
