Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on the recommended easy conversational pace........... you were going too fast........if you cannot breathe, you cannot oxygenate your blood and so you and your muscles tire quickly.........slow down, this is about stamina not speed.

Enjoy your journey.

2 minutes is 2 minutes more than yesterday but if you carry on 2 minutes will be quite a bit less than what you can do next week. The plan isn’t easy but is to be trusted. As long as you don’t give up Swansea will be enjoying your company in September I’m sure..

Well done

Completely normal. Trust the plan and just keep going. I've just done my first 25 minute run, in week 1 I was completely knackered and didn't get how it would work. It did though so I don't ask how I just do. Warning though it's a mental battle and you need to keep the pesky brain gremlins in check. Good luck.

Welcome. Great job getting started... doesn’t matter that you didn’t complete... just don’t quit... keep coming back and you get there. Dunno the odds, but I’ll have a couple of quid on you running that 10k... enjoy your journey.

The first run is the hardest - in fact - getting ready and going out to do the first run is the hardest. I felt like an idiot if I’m honest and put the first run off for over a week - so you have already achieved. When I finally did the first run i felt absolutely awful and never wanted to do it again EVER but I told myself it would never be that hard again. I completed the programme and have carried on running and feel absolutely fantastic. You absolutely can do this - slow down to slower than slow and get the miles in the legs and just keep plugging away - good luck

I am 52 and also 18 stone or so, currently on week 6 which means I ran for 20 minutes straight last week, which at Xmas would have been laughable. My one tip, slow it right down.

Well done for starting the programme, Like was said before 2 minutes is 2 minutes. Every step is progress. I was totally unfit when I started week 1, 30 secs for me was difficult, slow and steady and I’m now on week 6. My main thing that I’m sure has helped me is drinking 2 litres of water a day( before I started it was just coffees and tea) I’ve not gone on a diet, I’ve just changed my way of thinking about food and if I want a treat I have it but don’t now keep eating lots of treats because I used to feel like I’d ruined it( if that makes sense) Good look with your journey, you can do it👍🏃‍♀️
