Small but important gains

Just done run 1 week 3 and although itwas hard I was suprised at how easy the 1st 90 second run was, looking back to run 1 week 1 my heart nearly pumped out of my chest after 60 seconds, so that small gain was just the encouragement needed to keep going. Just thinking aloud :-)

That's really good roydh! I think we all feel like pretty rough on Week 1 - I know I could barely manage the 60 seconds running at the time. I graduated a few weeks ago and now anything less than 30 minutes continuous running seems odd. It's surprising how quickly our bodies respond to the sessions because I never thought I would manage a 5k run after just 9 weeks but I have and (more to the point) I enjoy it. Keep up the good work and let us know hhow you're doing.

It's really important to notice those differences, they all add up and by the end of week 9 you will be going for half an hour. Honestly, the programme just works!

Keep on running and keep on thinking aloud. We all take great pleasure in hearing someone's journey of discovery of abilities that they never knew they had. We've all been there and it is just as exciting second hand.

Good luck with week 2
