Not sure how I came across this web site - I think I found a mention on someone's blog post but it really made me laugh with its home truths about why we run.
I was really interested that he suggests 100 novels if you can't run... he is absolutely right, that's how I survived the last 30 years and I'll never be running ultramarathons (or marathons for that matter but I do run enough now to get the comparison.
Maybe at some level, that's why I actually went out and ran a mile today - in 28C sun, because I read that yesterday. If someone can do all that, at least I can try. Fortunately, there weren't any killer hornets or storms. Really didn't like the sound of those hornets (just reading it made me feel uneasy!) - and I usually love bugs.
I know where he's coming from, I run to eat as well, though I don't often have the fridge on its side!!! (Though I can beat the 7lbs lost in a day, I managed to lose 9lb overnight back in February, not an ultra marathon in sight, just a bowl of dodgy chilli (I know I cooked the beans properly!).)
I've read 42 books so far this year, does that count?
Amazing website .... Very talented writer! Am guessing we can all identify with little snippets from it. Definitely recommended reading for all newbie C25Kers LOL
