W4R1 premature blogulisation :)

Usually update blogs at the end of a run week, but since week 4 steps the program up a little I thought I'd report how we got on with the first run.

What a beautiful day, sunny, hot and ..... oh crickey that's gonna make it harder to run and we have to run longer today! Well long story short I really enjoyed it, apart from the part when we were overtaken by a real runner, but, he didn't exactly leave us for dust as he may have been a little irked about when he looked back. First three and five mins went swimmingly then I noticed my daughter falling far behind and walking when she should have been running. Deciding it might not do much for her confidence being left in her dad's wake i kept running back to her and encouraging. she had paused the podcast when she needed to walk and finished it fully, but it seems her feet had gone numb and her back was hurting a little thus having to stop running. She had a discectomy just over a year ago so I think a visit to the docs is in order just to get checked over. very proud of her though, she carried on and finished regardless.

My own session went really well. felt a stitch coming on at one point and spookily Laura chimes in with her tip for easing them. The ubiquitous Laura eh?

Looking forward to run 2 on Sunday, hoping daughter can join in without foot trouble. Have a sunny, runny, fun weekend everyone :)

Well done on w4r1, Laura always seems to know what's about pop up. Just goes to show how well put together these podcasts are. I'm on w4r2 tomorrow, hope it goes better than my w4r1. Hope your Daughters ok.

She's struggling a little with hayfever this morn, but aside from that she fine thanks Wullie. Maybe as I write this you'll be taking on run 2, wishing you a enthused and fulfilling run :)

Hope the hay fever doesn't interfere with the running to much. Just finished w4r2 and nailed both the pace and breathing. Will do my blog later.

What a nice dad! Must be a lovely thing to get out there running together, my daughter is only nine but came with me for a couple of the first weeks runs, now she sometimes comes along on her bike - those ones are always much easier somehow! I'm encouraged to hear how well your run went - scared, but I'm going out for week four run 1 tomorrow morning!

Don't let the extra minuted daunt you Slawr, ease into it go as slow as you need to and try to enjoy the beautiful weather we're having. Probably around the time you are out we will be too so I'll send some positive vibes out to you just in case :)

I'm in Australia! Still it's pretty gorgeous here for winter ;) planning to back off on the pace a bit, make sure I keep going to the end and enjoy that satisfaction of finishing! Thanks for the encouragement
