Finally got out for my first run of the week, so my plans of doing my graduation run as a park run on Saturday are now scuppered, thanks to a lovely 12 hour shift of driving, barely made it home before falling straight to sleep yesterday so was unable to get out for a run.

I'm still going to do the park run, but it'll be my week 9 run 2 now. So I wont graduate until Monday, so tempted to sneak an extra run in so I can call it a week. But I wont, I'll be a good girl. Going to get my gait analysed on Saturday while I am up in Edinburgh for the park run. My cousin and her friend are going to join me on Saturday, which will be nice, and helpful too, so I can find the actual place, I spend most of my days lost lol

So anyway about this run, I got my other half to give me a lift to the nearby town, so I could run back, by our calculations it should of come out about 5k, but I forgot I still had to do my 5 minute walk, so I started further up the road before I set my run keeper, this route had quite a few big hills on it but I was astounded when I glanced at me phone to check my distance at the 10 minute mark, only to see I hadn't even done 1km yet, this totally threw me, I really thought I was charging up the hills more than normal anyway. So by the end of the run according to Run keeper my run was only 3.2km in the 30 minutes. I was shattered at this point and thought, no way am I going to keep going again until the 5 k.

So was a bit miffed to say the least, how on earth did I manage to go from a 34 minute 5k run to a 30 min 3.2 k run, when I seemed to be running the same speed.

It all became clear when I got home and looked at my map, the gps hadn't come on at the start of the run and it also had me cutting corners and running in straight lines through fields, so it turns out with a little Google street view and draw your own Endomondo maps, homework, my run was actually around the 4.44 km give or take a little which is much better.

Phew ! there was genuine panic there that id lost a whole km.

So panic over, turns out was a good run, average of 6:45/km not quite my best but there were bigger hills and lots of slowing down fumbling with my phone so I am pleased with this one. next run Saturday Edinburgh park run. Said goodbye to Laura today, onto my own music from now on, so I'm off to make a playlist. Happy running all.
