Just got back from my run wearing brand new trail shoes - recommended because a lot of my route is through fields and along muddy river banks. Talk about winter tyres, the treads on my shoes are really chunky! Had my gait assessed and it is neutral. Now that I am back I know I have done the running but my body doesn't feel half as much shaken about. It's not that I ever came back in pain wearing my old trainers, but I did feel jangled about. So, Huge thank you to son and daughter-in-law for an early birthday present! W4 on Saturday. I bought 'technical' socks too, which are really comfy, no seams.

Brilliant Beek! Great to see you back on course
Thank you. This isn't exactly a walk in the park is it? But I am beginning to feel some benefit from it. I've been doing Stretch and Flex too and I am sure that has helped with my joints. Much less aching now than on my first run, when I could hardly walk up and down stairs afterwards! Today I feel pleased with myself for managing all the runs without slowing early.
R E S U L T!! I love proper running socks too... they are so cosy/comfy. Early ... happy birthday ..... enjoy all future runs. Linda
Hi Linda. I am Linda too. I can see I am going to get something good out of all this - at last! I think we all owe it to the NHS to be as well as we can for as long as we can and I am beginning to feel a tiny bit of pleasure from doing it. Thanks for the supporting posts, they really are a great help.
