New Trail Shoes : Got a pair of new trail shoes... - Couch to 5K
New Trail Shoes
They look great Al. Happy running in them.
I have been thinking about getting some trail shoes for winter running around the country park. I wear cushioned neutral shoes normally so I'm going to hit my local running shop for advice and to try on. This is going to be my 40th birthday present from my parents.
Very cheerful colours there Al Wishing you many happy miles on them
Very smart!
I'm thinking about a pair of trail shoes for the wetter weather as I do like to run in the woods.
They will have to wait for a while though as I've just invested in some tights, long sleeved tops and jacket for the cooler weather.
Iβve been running in Cascadia 14s for the last month and they are great! I feel very sure footed when the trail is muddy and my knees and ankles donβt feel achy after a run. Mine donβt look like yours anymore though with all the muddy runs π. Enjoy them πββοΈ
They look great Alπ Wishing you many happy miles on them π€π€π€
They look great Al, just wondering if they are waterproof, or if thereβs such a thing as a waterproof running shoe, my shoes, socks, feet were all wet when I came back this morning as the tracks/grass were so wet and Iβm thinking Iβll have freezing feet if they get wet in Winter? π€
Many happy running miles Al, those shoes look good and will carry you far
I like the look of those Al! I wear Brooks Glycerin for running on roads but On Cloudventures for off-road. I might invest in a pair of those once the Ons pass their sell-by date!πββοΈ
these are lush!
Very nice. My trail shoes are dark grey, but I changed the laces to bright orange. That way, if I am ever upside down in the wallow at our parkrun someone will be able to find me and pull me out
Lol Sue, I am sure that WON'T happen to you at a parkrun.
You will also notice that I said that I also bought a new running belt BUT when I tried it on I could hardly breathe, it was far too tight around my waist, then I notice it was for 24/34 inch waist, but all my trousers, pants, etc are 36/38, I phoned the shop that I bought them and told the lady and she told me to come back and I would get the correct size, I did that and I now have the correct belt size for running. π ππΎ
I wrote a post about my new shoes but it got lost somewhere! I will retype it
Great shoes! I'm in the process of getting some new running shoes - just waiting for my size to come in stock. Question - can you wear these to run on pavements? I need to run on pavement to get to the muddy track where I live - am wondering if perhaps I should maybe invest in some of these?
Yes I can run on pavements with them, part of my route and one of the parkruns I go to is quite muddy after rain, in the past I have avoided running on that particular muddy route, with those new shoes I will now be able to run on the muddy bit, lets face it as they say in the song but with slightly different words "these shoes were made for running 'in mud'".
They look great AlMorr. I hope you have many great runs in them ππ
Thank you Buddy34, I hope I will be able to run on parts of my route which is muddy where I don't run with my other running blue shoes, I went into Glasgow for the first time in 6 months to Run4it and bought them after running on a treadmill in the shop, they feel very comfortable,I also bought another running belt, now I can choose between two.
A massive CONGRATULATIONS to you for running your second Half Marathon in a excellent time of 2.18.41, I'll need to get back to running longer runs, I have not ran any longer than a 5K since my 10 mile run on the 22nd July, perhaps once I run a few short runs in my new shoes I will work up again to ten miles.
Wishing you and the shoes many happy miles Al! They look the business.
Those look very nice! Iβm thinking of getting some trail shoes as half of my usual route is going to be muddy in the autumn and winter. So Iβll check those out.
What sort of running belt did you get? I want something to hold my phone. I got something from Amazon but returned it today as it was too hard to squeeze my phone in and out of the pocket while Iβm runningπ₯΄
I had my first run in them this morning at 7.40, I ran through a muddy part of my running route that I have avoided with my other blue running shoes, they are very comfortable BUT NOT waterproof, there were a few large puddles en route and I admit that my feet did get a little wet, perhaps one day there will be waterproof running trail shoes, my running belt is a Fitletic Hydra Hydration one, it has a pouch for two small sized bottles, I only need one, there is also a pouch for a phone, but I found it awkward and only put my keys into it and had my phone in my pocket, I ran a 5K this morning, I set my metromone app at at a slower pace than usual for a 5K thinking I would complete it in around 37 minutes, as it was my 5K ππΎ running in my new shoes was 35.54.
Nice new shoes! And been meaning to say, loving the new profile picture π I want to get some trail shoes... need to do some research
The shoes are nice, perhaps the profile, not so nice, I hope you are feeling much better than recently and can get back to running and Lejog soon.
Definitely feels like 2 steps forward 1 step back at the moment... just need to keep doing the strengthening work! Clocking up plenty of walking miles for Lejog thanfully. Keep enjoying the new shoes π
You are getting there, I ran in my new shoes today a 5K, the first of 2/5Ks this week, the shoes were very comfortable to run in, could run in the muddy part of the route which I avoid with my other shoes, there were a few large puddles which I ran through, the shoes are not waterproof so my feet did get a little wet, otherwise excellent shoes.
