My legs were soooooo heavy tonight. Looking ahead a little, the minutes start to increase quite rapidly in the next few days.....how am I going to cope if I can barely do this? Feeling discouraged :-(

We're at the same stage, I do 4/3 tomorrow. I find some days much tougher than others, for no apparent reason.

Try changing the time you're running maybe? I find my runs after work (or later in the day) much easier than the ones I have to do first thing in the morning.

And the other thing I find is that my second run of each week has been my toughest. I think its because one the first you're distracted by new music, Laura's tips etc. and on run 3 you're happy because you're finishing another week.

Keep going, Laura's not let us down yet :)

Hi, I've just got home from 4/3 and I feel your pain :) I agree with Katyy1, I've found my best time of day to run and aim for that But I also found that the amount of sleep I have the night before makes a difference, as well as if I am drinking enough water.

Keep it up, you will get there.

I'm starting week 4 on Saturday, a little bit dubious about how quick the minutes increase over next couple weeks!!! I managed on 3/3 to do a little extra to get me prepares. I'm doing my runs on the treadmill and think I've been running a little too fast (10km/hr) so cut it back a little at my last one and ran a little slower and found it so much easier!

Will see what next week brings!!!

Keep going! yelsel's bit about being a bit slower is very sound - slow and steady is not in my picture for nothing. (10 km/hr is/was almost twice the speed I run/ran at, though I can go a bit faster for a short while now).

I agree. Keep slow and steady and trust Laura. I was worried too by on wk6 now, which seems impossible!

Slowing the pace really helps. I've just done my third week 4 run, and after struggling a bit on week 3 I needed a strategy for coping with the 5 minute run in week 4. I dropped my pace by 1kph (easy to do when running on a treadmill) and found it much easier. I did the 3 min run at the faster speed and the 5 minute run at the slower pace and I found the 5 min easier than the 3 min, so I guess it's just a matter of finding the pace that suits you best. Keep up the good work, you can do it!!

I did my first week 4 run today and was pleasantly surprised! My legs are a bit tired which I'd expect but nothing major and I stuck with the slightly slower pace for my runs and managed the 5 minute run easily. Feeling very happy with myself considering a month ago is have said "I can't run". Hoping that the rapid change in week 5 isn't as bad as it looks ha ha :)
