What's an ideal beat (BPM) in music to run to?

It depends on how fast you're currently running. Go to jog.fm/ and put in your time to run one km (or mile) and the site will tell you the best bpm to run at that pace. Of course, if you wish to use the music to push you a bit more to increase your pace, put in your desired pace.
You may wish to have several different paces for different runs, eg a slow pace for your longer runs, a steady 5 km pace and maybe a faster pace for running short fast intervals
