Have never posted a comment until today...I have just completed week 9 run 3.....the structure has worked for me ,so now I need the next plan.........I will lose interest if I don't find something that works.I am very slow, but can't seem to run any faster,my legs just wont.
I am very pleased to have got this far.I am not a natural runner (if there is such a thing)...but I'm in my mid 50's and working to keep healthy and take part in the race for life in July.

Many congratulations! This forum of lovely people is amazing for support etc, do keep in contact now you're a graduate! I finished yesterday and, like you, am still not near enough to the 5Kms for my satisfaction, so I'm taking myself off to a measured ParkRun route and will jog around there with my own music until I can do the lot in one go and preferably in around 30 minutes! There are follow up podcasts with Laura still, and the 5 x 50 challenge which is ongoing at the moment, plus various fitness and strength challenges ... hunt around the NHS Choices main page and you'll soon find them. Lots of luck with future plans - whatever they turn out to be Linda x
Well done! I was concerned too that I would struggle to maintain enthusiasm after graduation but have found that by running a 30 minute run, a 'speed' session from the stepping stones podcasts and 1 longer run (gets a bit longer each week, now up to 1 hour) each week I have maintained my motivation. I use a runtastic app so can be all geeky re my stats too.
Congratulations! I graduated 3ish weeks ago now and also missed the structure! So I've been doing almost exactly what Lynds has.
I still run 3x a week, for the first one I do the 'speed' podcast. For the second I've mapped out exactly 5k and run without music or earphones, but I do time myself to see if I get faster And then I do a longer run for the third one. For this I'm doing the Bridge to 10k podcasts, but I only do one a week as I don't really want to start running 10k quite yet!
Congratulations on your graduation! And best of luck for Race for Life - if you need more structure (I certainly did), you could try the c25k+ podcasts. Speed is brilliant!
