Hi i recently iv had a what I'd describe as a flare up of my COPD after suddenly waking up earlier than usual one morning weezy . iv also found iv been having anxiety attacks since and houghts about dying and being on oxygen to breath. I find not being able to breath really scary especially as I live alone and often think what would happen if this was to happen. Up to about a week ago iv been pretty happy go lucky., it seemed to happen so suddenly. Recently my copd seems to be a little worse (cold weather not outstanding) it it kind of fluctuates from feeling fine to short of breath. Had the all clear from the docs and negative covid test.

Pursed lip breathing (search for it on YouTube) is a good way to deal with SOB (Shortness of breath). I'm on oxygen 24/7 and happy because without it I would be stuck in bed, and unable to do anything. Oxygen gives me the freedom to go out with friends, and at least do some of what I once could. COPD, doesn't mean the end of our lives. It can be treated so that we can live a long life. Physical activity helps a LOT. Eat healthy, stay active (walk?), and take your prescribed medications. If you smoke, stopping will help a lot too. Hope you get a good handle on it.
Hi Hull geezerI am suffering something similar, I have COPD stopped smoking coming upto 14 months ago and been trying to get some lung capacity back. Anyway I have recently been feeling more breathless. I did wake up one morning and my nose was really running and I had headache this lasted only one day. Took covid tests was negative twice, the end of last week and today I'm gasping for breath walking from my car into the house, I don't feel ill I dont have a cough with my copd but have been a bit wheezy and have a little phlegm. I did suffer a lot before with sinus infections. But the more breathless I get the more anxious I am which makes things worse. So I've started my steroids today to see if the breathlessness subsides. I'm thinking there is some sort of inflammation on my lungs, I just wanted to let you know you are not alone when you feel like that. I do walk regularly and I work 3 days a week so I'm active and that's the key. Jlyou should post on blf site there's more people on there with good advice. Hope you are feeling better ๐
I am the same way.Same situation.I know what your going through. But hang in there.Spring comes you feel better,Listen to your doc things will be ok My Friend. TONY
