C.O.P.D. and Cymbalta

My spine doctor placed me on Cymbalta for a bulging disk several years ago. Due to side-effects, I have tried to stop this drug several times without luck. When I try and stop, I wake up in the middle of the night not being able to breathe. This has happened 4 times and necessitated a trip to the E.R. When discussing with my Pulmonologist (who treats my C.O.P.D.) he had never heard of this reaction and did not take it seriously. Has anyone else had a similar reaction when coming off a drug like Cymbalta?
