I thought I'd drop in, I saw the 40% post and I'm that's me! It took a helicopter ride a bi-pap on head out of my small rural town and spending weeks in the hospital till I got it! The Doctors and just said, how do want what life you have left to be? I quit smoking 18 months ago, yey! It took red licorice and being on o2 24/7, I still have major problems, I don't get out but I have other major issues but I thought I could never quit smoking but hastening my death and not having a chance to a least be here for my family, they have to come and see me but I can still engage. I hope the best for everyone!!

Cynmp, I agree it sometimes takes a life changing moment to shake us up enough to realize that we are not invincible! Good for you on quitting smoking. I smoked over 40 years and quit 6 weeks ago, best thing ever. My husband has copd but is still smoking and I am here just trying to help him but he is stubborn and I have my hands full. I hope you continue to do well. Thanks, Mary Ann

Mary Ann, thanks, I smoked 40 years too, I think it's the total honestly of the Doc's and I had to be honest to myself, I have end stage lung disease,no getting. around it. My other half quit when I left on the careflight and I think that helped.Good job to you quitting! I am disabled. and when I was in pain, I smoked more, now jelly beans helped me!!wow that's quite a change! COPD is hard period, this isn't we had planned for, my bucket list has changed a lot but it is what it is ??¿ Take care, Cynthia
