Hi everyone

I'm just 45 and found out last month that I have COPD. I've lost 30% and still trying to get my head around it, my voice has change and I get out of breath easy now but I am managing to this do most things but a lot slower now.

But My main problem is the flutters my hart going to fast and know that I am on the pump its even worse. I seem to have more energy but can't sleep because of the flutters.

Hi Tracy, I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis at such a young age. It must be so difficult to accept that realization. The fortunate thing is that there are things you can do to help you feel better as you go from day to day. The most important is to be sure you're not smoking...if you are, you need to quit pronto! Also drinking plenty of water & walking is very helpful. My heart used to beat really fast when on albuteral. Be sure to talk to your doctor & hopefully he'll put you on the treatment plan that works for you. I'll be praying for you as you go forward taking one day at a time. Terri

Hi Traceyanne:

Sorry to hear you have this terrible disease, I have learned to take it one day at a time. I also have the flutters I suggest you see a cardiologist as this disease can effect the heart. These flutters can cause a blood clot so they aren't something to write off. They could be caused my medicine also. I found out I also have heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension and A Fib along with copd. Make sure you drink lots of water and Don't Give up.

Thanks.Great advice LORBIC. compared to you I feel like it's a miracle at stage 4, not to have any other damage to My heart. Had a catheterizezation done a year ago and everything is okay for now. I will be praying for you and all my other COPD Members Take care and God Bless

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As for the heart flutters you are experiencing, please talk to your doctor, get yourself checked out to make sure there is nothing else going on.

Good evening

I have seen an Cardiologist and she found the Atrial Fibrillation, but she didn't medicate me because she wanted me to see a Lung specialist and they found the COPD. I am aware of rise of clots and i'm higher because theres a family history which doesn't help me.

I've put on Spiolto Respimat its a new pump which is meant to be very good and they have reduced it because of my flutters.

I seem to be lucky because I am not coughing and my breathing is manageable, they are putting that down to my overall health and fitness.

I get tried very easy and if I do sit around then I am swollen ankles. I'm feeling sick a lot and I'm in a brains just going.
