I am on 02 24/7 I have been on 2liters but find I get out of breath easily but if I sit for a bit my oxygen goes back to 90s after dropping as low as 60. Should I up my liters? I don't want to get to much 02 either.

No, don't change the number of liters without first consulting with your physician.

I up mine w/ exertion under the guidance of the resptitory therapist. You can use better judgement if you utilize your own pulse oxymeter to check on a regular basis. Ten years of oxygen therapy have taught me quite a bit.

I wouldn't up your liters without the doctor saying its ok. Too much O2 is not good either. At times like when I wake up my O2 is low. I have a APV machine for sleep apnea and I attach my O2 hose to it at night

Hello Bugabuga, you really need to talk to your doctor, if your oxygen drops to 60, that is not good. I am usually at 2 , but my doc said when I am busy or walking should up it to 3, was in Denver a while back, higher altitude than here, said I may need to go to 4. Sure does make everyday easier. Good luck and God Bless.

Do the deep breathing through the nose and out pursed lips all the time, that should help keep it up there. Call you doctor and let them know what is happening, they may tell you to up it when walking. I use 2 when just watching TV but 3 the rest of the time even at night.

get your self a pulsoxymeter and when you fall below 90, TURN it UP. I have hypoxia, shortness of breath while at pulmonary rehab. Using the treadmill I have found that if I up the oxygen to 5 lt instead of the 2 I normally have to use, I dont' lose my breath Just dont' leave it there when you are not using exertion as too much for too long also isn't good. :)
