Good morning,

I am French and I come here on English-speaking forums to be able to find answers to my questions 😁

Has anyone here ever been diagnosed with proctitis? or inflammation of the intestines without pain?

Thank you in advance have a good evening

Hi Carl so what symptoms do you have and how do you know your colon is inflamed?

Hi,for 3 months blood and mucus in the stools. from time to time pain which lasts a few minutes.

Last night I went to see my GP who ordered a blood test and a stool test. She also gave me a prescription to see a gastroenterologist.

I'm not 100% sure it's inflammation, but with my symptoms I would tend to think it's inflammation which my doctor thinks too.

Yup Carl, see a colonoscopy if can, that will be the most direct

maybe can do stool test for inflammation/bacteria and occult blood. I will do one month from now cause I just removed a precancerous polyp and I still have some bleeding and why one month later cause the Dr said currently I’m confirmed infection so no point testing now

Yes, you are right, normally they will do a rectoscopy and if they find nothing in the rectum they will do a full colonoscopy.

So ultimately your polyp was not the cause of the bleeding if the bleeding didn't stop?

It is the cause because my Dr told me when he scope in, he saw that polyp bleeding so eventually I also don’t know why there is still bleeding, probably just like another member said it shld be the removal of polyps and it took a while before the blood subside, they did prescribe me Tranexamic to stop the bleeding but I was wondering whether to take or not cause one of the side effect is diarrhoea, my tummy is no good so I don’t wish for diarrhoea, I’m still pondering whether to eat or not. When will you be going for your colonoscopy, I am the urgent type, I hope to solve my health problems asap but I know sometimes it takes time

have to go to the gastroenterologist to set a date for the rectoscopy or colonoscopy.

I make an appointment tomorrow

Yup , update us

hi, this morning I went for my blood test.

The results are a level of (CRP) a protein which is a marker of inflammation and can be present in elevated quantities in cases of malignancy.

I am below the high threshold so I am a little more reassured for the moment.

tomorrow morning I will take my stool test to the analysis laboratory

I'll let you know

regarding the gastroenterologist for the colonoscopy there is a 9 month wait 😭. so we will try to speed things up thanks to our family doctor who knows a gastroenterologist.

Well, good news as well but the wait is always the worse, I rather do it all on the same day but do update

Hi, I received the results of my stool analysis.

no viruses or parasites.

next step find a gastroenterologist as quickly as possible.

Congrats, yup look for a colonoscopy but it’s safe when you don’t bleed

9 months. Wow. I hate to hear that. That is just unacceptable. I called to schedule my annual colonoscopy and it was 3 weeks out. I was kinda shocked as it is usually several months, but mine is surveillance and not due to symptoms. My local hospital is making all kinds of changes to better respond to patient needs. I can see it's beneficial so far. Colonoscopies are a major part of screenings and a 9 month wait is ridiculous.

Hi Carl33150,

I have not. This is something new to me. Thanks for bringing this up.

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹

Today is my colonoscopy day, I have it at 3:30 p.m. (French time).

Last night I drank 1L of (XIMEPEG) a laxative essential to have a clean intestine before the colonoscopy. then 1L of pure water.

same procedure this morning but with 50 centiliters of water after the 1L of XIMEPEG which has a taste of salt water and a taste of chemical lime 🀒 not very good πŸ˜…

Hello everyone πŸ‘‹

what an adventure 😭!

So the bleeding comes from a pedunculated juvenile polyp of

1.5 centimeters.

It was removed from me but I had a digestive hemorrhage following the polypectomy.

Suddenly I had to go back for a second emergency colonoscopy in less than 24 hours and they put clips on me to stop the bleeding.

otherwise everything is fine now πŸ’ͺ

I'm here if people need information
