My partner has just been told his colon cancer is inoperable, and that he can't have chemo as he has child b cirrhosis. Is there any treatment available to him ? He is very weak because nobody treating his cirrhosis.
Desperate.

hi there so sorry to hear about your partner’s diagnosis, hasn’t his appointed nurse given you any information on anyway to manage his condition, you sound like you’re getting no support I do hope you find an answer , this group is very supportive take care. 🤞
Nothing yet only told yesterday. Had a call today from hospital need to take him in as he has very low sodium levels. We see an oncologist on Tuesday to see if there is anything he can do.
I would expect any treatment would be concentrating on the colon cancer.Symptoms from cirrhosis would wherever possible be dealt with but maybe your going to have to move on to palative care much sooner than you hoped for.
Hi 123toyouto,
Very sorry to hear what's happening with you and your partner. I see you have an appointment with an Oncologist on Tuesday. Inoperable may mean it can't be removed physically but may be able to still treat it.
I would ask about genetic testing and the possibility of sequencing the tumor mutation to see if there are any immunotherapies or other therapies that don't involve chemo. Chemo is very harsh and does a lot of unnecessary damage. An immunotherapy triggers the immune system to attack the cancer. I did a clinical trial with an immunotherapy drug and it made the difference in my cancer fight.
I do hope you oncologist meeting goes well.❤️👍
