LOTS OF WHITE MUCUS IN STOOL!
Hi Johaan77,
Thank you for posting on colon cancer connected. I hate that you're experiencing these symptoms. I think you're smart in thinking that you may need to be getting these checked out. They are some of the symptoms of colon cancer. Abdominal pain, losing weight, and a change in stool are some other symptoms. You should also know if there is a family history for certain health issues. But when you're dealing with blood as a symptom, it's always a good idea to get it checked out and know the cause.
You should also know that you should never accept the diagnosis based on your age. Don't let anybody tell you that something couldn't be occurring just because you're young. There are several tests your doctor can put you through to determine what's going on. One would be a FIT test which would determine if what you are seeing is actually blood. That is a test of your stool. A colonoscopy is another way to find out what's going on as well. That's the absolute best way. There could be many reasons for what you are experiencing that would not be cancer related. So, it's good to get things narrowed down.
I am glad that you reached out and asked your questions. It's a very smart thing to do. A lot of people ignore symptoms until they become a larger problem. It's always good to catch things early. We do wish you the very best in finding out what's going on. Please check back with us and let us know what you find out. It's information like that that can be helpful to others on this site.
Thank you,
~Tom, GCCA Survivor - Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.
