I had a colonoscopy a year ago, which indicated colitis and proctitis. I've had bleeding mixed with my stool before the colonoscopy and it is now a year later and I still have bleeding. It is starting to get worse, accompanied with a bloody mucus jelly. It hasn't stopped, after trying meds prescribed by the doctor. I almost daily get stomach cramps. I am really worried, the doctor said she thinks it may be cancer. I do not have any rectal pain or hemorrhoids, got that checked already.
I can only see the specialist in 7 weeks' time.
Did you also experience the same?
I'd appreciate anything that could help me and ease my mind.

Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you have these things going on. Actually, continue to have them. I'm glad to see you have an appointment in 7 weeks, but that seems a long way off.
I personally did not have any of that when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Mine was a change in bowel movements and a lump in my abdomen that became tender. I had a CT scan performed and it was a large mass stage 4.
For you, the slight cramping, the colitis and proctitis is going on. It doesn't seem to be going away. There are several things you can do. The colonoscopy is a year old and may need to be done again. Lots can happen in a short period of time. I get one annually as a part of my surveillance. I also get a CT scan annually and that is another test along with a blood draw. All in efforts to catch anything early.
Another test that may be beneficial to you is a Galleri test. This is a blood test that can detect cancer cells being discarded into the blood stream. If some cells are found, it can tell from what part of the body they came from. It's a blood draw and then sent off to the lab for analysis. It uses a technology called Grail which uses DNA sequencing. It's another test that can be used in the identification of cancer presence early in disease progression. It has it's limitations but can be used as a part of screening process. It is pretty accurate and is able to find over 50 types of cancer and that number is growing.
All this is to try to put your mind at ease by getting you good answers to what is going on. It hate 'cancer' was tossed out to you and then you have to wait 7 weeks for further diagnosis. Maybe the blood test can be done during the 7 week wait?
I do wish you the very best in finding answers to your issues. Maybe there are others on this site with similar experiences. You are doing the right thing and getting your doctor involved. Please let us know what you find out and what procedures you are doing. That info can be helpful to others on this site.

Some other things about what I experienced... My family had a history of cancer and I have Lynch Syndrome. It's an hereditary form of cancer. I was first diagnosed at age 49 and already had stage 4 colon cancer. My symptoms were abdominal pain and some stool consistency changes. The tumor that was removed would have been a polyp had I gotten a colonoscopy at age 43. I had some cousins pass away at their ages of 31 & 35 from stage 4 colon cancer. Had we known what we know now about our family history, I should have been getting an annual colonoscopy at age 34. I just offer this up to show that catching things early or even having the opportunity to prevent things by getting early screenings and surveillance is the best way to go. It eventually took a clinical trial to save me from the same fate as my cousins. Get answers and get them early😁.
Do you notice it's worse or better with anything you eat or meds you take that could be allergies inflaming your intestinal lining? Any possibility of parasites(boy do they make your gut cramp) or Sibo or fungal/yeast infection?
