Hi guys, sorry for the grapic image but I'm concerned and wanted to see what people think? It's the first time I've seen blood. Seems to be a lot?
Trying to get a doctors appointment to get it checked, but wanted to ask on here as well.
Thanks

Hey there. It looks like it could be a mixture of blood and mucous maybe? I would def go to GP and maybe show them this pic. Try not to worry too much as there can be many causes. I have a colonoscopy tomorrow to investigate rectal bleeding and I'm scared but a lot of people have said it can be many things like hemhorrhoids or colitis or fissures.
Appreciate your reply!
Yeah it's an odd colour, it's not a typical bloody red colour so I'm concerned. Trying to get a doctors appointment 💪
The info out there is also conflicting, a lot say of it's dark then it's something serious, some say it could be from eating dark colour foods. I had a double chocolate protein cookie and chocolate protein pudding this morning
Hey Warlock992,
Definitely get it checked out as you are doing. There can a lot of reasons for this.
Once I started adding black cherry beet powder to my hydration routine (I do a lot of cycling) and had some red stool looking stuff. I backed off my beet powder and it went away. So I added it back and it's ok and not showing up. It was like my body said "what the heck is this?" But now it accepts it. I had to have a gastrojejunostomy (stomach bypass) during my cancer fight and every now and then I get a message that whatever I ate is not going to be tolerated and my stomach lets me know rather abruptly.
Be sure to let us know after you get it checked out.
Thanks,
Tom
It’s hard to make out from the photo exactly what it is. It could be something you ate mixed in as it only seems to be in one area of the stool. Also if this is the only time it’s happened it might be a one off.
Your age and family history will dictate the risk factor a lot also. If you are under 50 with no family history of colon cancer and no other symptoms such as weight loss or pain it’s probably not serious.
But you must go for a checkup at the doctor. I know it’s scary but if there is something that needs treatment delaying it won’t make it go away or help the prognosis. Let us know how you get on.
any update?
