Hi, I had endoscopy done around 7 weeks ago, they banded two haemorrhoids and removed a polyp. They said they would send the polyp off for testing. I was told that I would likely get a telephone follow up appointment. My doctors informed me that I needed to call the hospital to arrange a telephone appointment and when I called and I was told someone would call me back. I haven’t had a call back but have had a text this morning for a face to face appointment. I have tried to call the hospital but they aren’t there over the weekend and I am now thinking the worst!! Has anyone had a face to face follow up before after a procedure or should I be preparing for bad news? Thanks in advance

Follow up appointment worries
Hi Unsure22,
Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected.
We are proud of you getting things done and are now waiting on more information. I don't know if a face to face is an indication of bad news more than a phone to phone. I have had doctor visits where after I left I thought we could have done that on the phone. I think in many instances they just want to see you and have a visual of you and with whom they are speaking with. If they can see you, they know it's you.
Is the face to face going to be with your regular doctor? It may be with the doctor of pathology that examines the samples? That doctor may want to see you. I know when I get a CT scan, the evaluating doctor is someone I've never met. But it's my regular doctor that tells me the results of the exam.
I wouldn't read too much into how the information gets to you. Please focus on getting the information the will be very helpful for your health.
We do wish you get the very best of results and the information you need. We hope it's positive. And we want you to be positive as well.👍🤟 Please do let us know how it turns out for you.
