I am 27 and undergoing tests for bowel cancer due to the high levels of blood on my stools.
I had my test done back in November and I chased the doctors for my results 4th March.
Today we are 8th March and I've had blood tests, colonoscopy scheduled, (I get my date tonight/tomorrow) doctor after doctor calling me. Its been go go go since the doctor seen my results last Friday and to be honest I'm absolutely petrified. I had my baby 9 months ago and can't help but panic.
Can anyone shed some light on everything as at the moment it's very unclear what is happening and going very fast for my brain to catch up which is making me panic even more. I don't know why I'm writing this I think I just need an outlet to say this? 😔

Maybe just internal hemorrhoids same thing happened to me right about 5 months after I had my daughter they said it was internal hemorrhoids I got two colonoscopys in the matter of 9 months both times they said it was internal hemorrhoids.
Well they told me what they seen right after I woke up . Which they said my entire colon was clear kinda crazy for how much bleeding I had going on . An that was both times an they did biopsy’s for IBD which they called back with the results three days later I have microscopic colitis of the entire colon an small bowel. Which doesn’t cause bleeding so they been saying all the bleeding is from internal hemorrhoids.
Yeah ... test in November and then having to chase down the information 4 months later is not a good response time. You are doing the right things in seeing your GP and then having the colonoscopy scheduled. I hope it is scheduled very soon for you so you can get some good insight into what's causing this situation for you.
We hate the pace of everything and the waiting is causing you to stress. It is good the doctors are responding to you about the colonoscopy and you're not having to pursue this on your own. Please try to focus on the obtaining of answers and that can't happen until you get the colonoscopy. Hopefully this will get you on the path to some beneficial therapy.
We do wish you the very best. Congratulations on your baby👍🍼. Please feel free to use this as an outlet as many do. It can help to get comments from others who have gone through a similar situation. And do keep us posted on your results.
All the best on your results❤️.

I have it scheduled for 19th March thank goodness! I was put on the 2 week waiting list.Don't have to wait long at all, it's so nice reading other stories. Some successful and some not (but knowing the experience is good for me!)
It's more worrying as I'm also indergoing dermatologist for concerning moles on my back which makes me over-think more that if I have something serious it's spread into something else. Just the way I am a proper worrier 🤣
Thankyou very much! It's honestly so appreciated ❤
Hey! The most important thing is to push to get all checked do everything to be sure… I don’t wanna scare you but i had blood for months and my doctor was like its just hemorroids until i got a colonoscopy and they found a tumor.. if only i was taken seriously maybe it would have been different..Im only 30 btw, and no family history.. so it was super shocking, but dont be scared colon cancer is super rare at your age but not impossible so it better to do all tests
Im so sorry to hear that, hopefully everything is getting sorted for you now? I wish you all the best with everything!! I've got my date now just the waiting game to do now, 9 days to go
Good luck! Its the beat thing to do!! And as u see most of the comments are positive so it is really mostly not cancer..Well for me, definitely not the best moment of my life.. did chemo, now radio, surgery still to go and maybe more chemo after… a temporary colostomy bag probably too so yeah but at least im thankful it is being handled
Hi Ram9, I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I pray and hope everything goes okay for you! was your blood physically in every bowel movements and was it persistent?
So sorry to hear the panic in your message I know the feeling I had terrible left side pelvic pain for 3 months paid for ultrasound it wasn't gynie related so Dr said to do a fit test..I've oftened bled when constipated for years but I was so scared it came bk negative I thought the worst and they rushed my colonoscopy ...but thankgod nothing found they couldn't exain the blood other than straining...and as soon as I was found clear the pain went....verystrange...but the moral of the story is try not to panic love ...yes we do but like me and many others it prob is inside piles ...your young so I doubt it will be anything sinister ....pls Try to stay calm and positive get the coloniscopy over with ask for as much pain releif u can have lol...most don't feel it but if u are anxious it will help.. Good luck lots of love ❤
Thankyou for sharing your story, I'm glad they found nothing. Sometimes you'd body like to play little jokes on us right? Hopefully that's mine aswell we can only wait. Undergoing other tests for more things with moles so anxiety is through the roof at the moment.
The idea of the colonoscopy is scaring me more than the results at the moment!
9 days I'll be sedated having some mum free time at the hospital though 👀 atleast I may be able to have a cup of tea in peace after 🤣❤
Aww bless ya...its awful fear of the unknown isn't it I have health anxiety which makes things worse I always think its the worse senerio...then My gp gives me the assurance I need ..I'm sure it will be fine and if they do find the problem they can sort it..your young healthy and u be fine ....let us know xx
The fact that you gave birth naturally, I’m assuming, there is a very high Chance you have hemorrhoids. Rectal bleeding with hemorrhoids happens a lot as opposed to cancer. In Colon cancer you usually can’t see blood because it’s inside your poo. Fit tests finds the blood in your poo. I’ve bled for almost 4 years now on and off and pretty bad, due to hemorrhoids. Wait until you get your colonoscopy. Your questions will be answered.
I had a c section due to complications with my heath during pregnancy unfortunately. Just got to wait for the colonoscopy next week and wait for results 😀 I have had 2 FIT tests one no signs of blood visibly but in the results and one showing darker blood and obviously shown blood. Both high %
