I have had problems with my bowel since August. I had a Colonoscopy recently and they found, and removed, a polyp. Since then, I am still having violent diarrhoea and this morning I noticed that when I wiped my bum, my poo was almost black.
Has anyone else had this, and if so, what happened?
Thanks

Sorry to hear you are having these symptoms. Glad that you recently had a colonoscopy and that the polyp was removed. I would contact your healthcare professional and discuss your GI concerns with him/her. It's important to keep track of your symptoms so you can provide that information during your appointment - when did symptoms start; pain level; changes in bowel habits, etc.
I have had the exact same thing. They found two polyp and removed it. No diarrhea afterwards but did have some black poop for a while. Sometimes it was almost symmetrical vertically i.e one side black and other normal. I did take linzess for 6 month to ease my bowel habit. I was worried too and did a follow up but they reassured me it should be fine. These days I have normal bowel habit and my poop looks normal. I suspect when they cut polyp it will take some time to heal internally which leaks blood while straining during bowel movement and makes poop black. I will have another colonoscopy in two years again to be sure everything is okay.
