Hi All , like everyone else I am terrified right now. For the last three weeks I have been constipated and passing only thin stringy stools. Dr said keep taking Miralax which alleviates the constipation but still constipated. I had a Colonoscopy two years ago and was told I was clear. BUt now I am going through this and scared.
Hoping its something different than Colon Cancer. ANy comments or support would be good. Thanks Chris

Hello, stringy stools and narrowing of the colon due to constipation can be simply functional. Polyps and subsequent malignancies are slow-growing , app 10 years), therefore your last colonoscopy should rule out any malicious cause. Constipation, even without cause is very common. Especially when talking about functional constipation. What is your age, diet, activity level and other symptoms? Any history of other digestive issues?
I am 69 live a rather sedentary life style but do gardening. My diet is not a high fibre one and I do eat meat and eggs etc, I Have never had issues before . I injured myself four weeks ago and was sat on the sofa for three weeks almost unable to move , then when I could finally walk again the next day this inability to poop started.
