Dear Mooora ,Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I'm sorry that these symptoms are causing you anxiety.
As hard as it is, try to not let the anxiety get to you too much. (I know that it is a lot easier said than done!). Our GI systems are very sensitive to stress and anxiety and can make symptoms worse.
This site does not offer medical advice, but we are here to share our experience and offer our advice, but it should not replace speaking to your doctor. It is pretty hard to tell from a photo what's going on unless the blood is very obvious, which doesn't seem to be the case here. However, we recommend that you speak to a medical professional to find out for sure if there is blood in the stool and any issues.
There are many reasons for blood in the stool, some are very treatable with medication, diet change, and minor procedures, and of course, there are more serious reasons for blood in the stool as well. For that reason, we always advise patients to seek medical care when they have blood in the stool.
Why don't you start by contacting your primary care doctor to get an appointment? Depending on where you live/COVID policies, they may want to do a video visit with you.
I know how upsetting it can be to see something alarming when having a bowel movement. Try not to get ahead of a diagnosis, there truly are so many reasons why you could have rectal bleeding. Many are manageable conditions such as hemorrhoids or an anal fissure. But we always recommend getting examined by a doctor because it is important to rule out anything more serious, and also even if not life-threatening, you do want to get whatever is causing the bleeding, treated.
Again, we can't really tell from a photo, and we don't offer medical advice, but from my viewpoint, I don't see blood. If you look at other posts on this site, you will see people posting photos of blood in the stool that is 100% blood, no question about it.
We hope you can follow up with a medical professional to get checked out, and get some answers.
Please keep us posted,
~Nicole, GCCA Staff Member & Colon Cancer Connected Site Administrator.
