Hello, just an update, hope everyone is doing well. I lost another 10 this pounds this week, looking gaunt but trying to stay positive. I finally have an appointment with a doctor on the 30th to discuss my symptoms. If anyone has any tips or questions I might not think to ask please feel free to let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hey. Great that you have got an appointment. Make sure you write everything down you want to say and ask. Be as acurate with your symptoms as you can. I would advise to make daily notes between now and then so that you can be clear on your visit. Its mad how hard it is to explain when you finally get to see a doctor.

Thank you for your update, I'm sorry to hear you are still losing weight. I'm so glad that you will have an appointment on the 30th.

I agree with Assagi's advice about taking notes to bring to your doctor.

Hopefully you'll also have results from the blood tests, even though in another post you mentioned that the blood tests are for your heart.

Especially since you have had surgeries and have other health concerns, I would recommend obtaining as much of your medical history from doctors in advance of your appointment on the 30th (also especially since it takes so long to get an appointment, you want to make sure you have as much information at hand as possible).

As far as tips for the doctor, ask straight forward and direct questions, and do NOT be shy to ask them what a word means, or ask them to spell it out for you so you can write it down.

I am sure your stress level and anxiety are pretty high right now. Focusing on being an organized patient ready to gather as much information as possible (both in getting your records from other institutions as well as taking good notes with the dr.), are really important. You sound like a very caring father and I am hoping for the best. Please keep us posted on how your appointment goes on the 30th.
