Ongoing symptoms for 2 years

Hi everyone,

I have been dealing with constant symptoms for over 2 years now. I am 30, M, 215 lbs. I have had a sense of pressure in my chest, as well as feeling nauseous off and on. It seems to come in waves, where my symptoms are really awful for a week-10 days then I am good for a bit. Throughout this time, my bowels have been all over the place...diarrhea, lighter stool, yellow-orange color. Haven’t noticed any blood, unless the orange color is? I also have just noticed a bit of a dull pain on my right side, under my rib cage.

I have been to countless doctors appointments, cardiologist, gastro, GP. My cardiologist believes it is has to do with GI, as all my tests have been good with her. I got an upper endoscopy a few months ago and that came back clear. I also have a dual channel ph test next week.

Blood work seems to be in good shape, esr is elevated at 30 (that’s about it). My anxiety has been through the roof thinking that this could be colon cancer. Has anyone had similar symptoms or have any idea as to what I could be dealing with?

Hi Cdods1, I'm really sorry to hear you've been suffering so long with this, with no answer as to what's causing it in sight. I am not a Doctor but I think if you have had this for over 2 years, it's unlikely that it's some sort of cancer. But If your attacks have become worse in severity since they started and your general physical condition has deteriorated I would be more concerned.

I wondered also if they did any bacterial cultures of your blood or any tests for parasites? One called Giardiasis can cause orange diahorrea, and you get that from drinking untreated water ....have you travelled anywhere before these symptoms started, were you abroad at any point?

I've been experiencing the exact same thing plus other symptoms since December, my stomach bloats after 4pm 'ish and I feel quite unwell when I need the toilet.

How have you got on?

Same symptoms here!!! Have been having chest pressure and nausea for a really long time with stool problems.. going to a cardiologist tomorrow and have an upper endoscopy on the 24th. Doctors thinks it’s h pylori but not sure yet. I had a sigmoidoscopy as well and just had internal hemorrhoids

I have recently just posted. I have been having ongoing loose yellow stool the past 2 months that have black specks( I’m concerned it’s blood). I have had lots of blood tests and stool test for infection but all clear.

This is a change of bowel movement for me. Bloating is another symptom as well as gas.

Have you had liver and gallbladder investigated ?

Blood test for my liver yes and all clear but unsure of my gallbladder

Bile Acid Malabsorption is something to look into, bile is yellow so if it's not being reabsorbed it will cause yellow stools and all your other symptoms. BAM is fairly common and easily treated although it may not be something your GP has thought about !

I am having similar symptoms. For the past 4 months, on and off I have been feeling sick, loss of energy, abdominal pain left and right. And small specs of blood on toilet paper. Also when I sit, I feel uncomfortable and my bum hurts. Not sure If it's Ibs, hemorrhoids, or Colan cancer. It's been making me go mental, been having extreme anxiety as well as depression since I lost my friend a year ago.
