Hello guys,

I have been noticing bright red blood on my stool and have rectal fullness. Also there is blood on the tp but it doesnt look like regular blood it looks like bloody slime or jelly like. Also I have some type of lumps in rectal area but they are from the inside if that makes sense. Can you please tell me what I could be dealing with?

Bright red blood is a sign of fresh blood. With is more reassuring more than brown blood with is old.. does your Bowel movement hurt when you go. The lumps inside sound like internal heamorroids.. the slime just might be increased to help stool pass more easier

Sorry for replying just now, I have not been online much.No pain with bowel movement, just blood on stool that looks like bloody slime and rectal fulness as if I need to have a bowel movement all the time. I recently had anoscopy and digital rectal exam by colorectal surgeon and he told me there is inflamation and I might have colitis. No hemorrhoids. His face looked worried and he sent me for colonoscopy....

Can cancer be seen on anoscopy? I am even more worried than before. Again thank you so much for replying to me!

Have you had colonoscopy or diagnosed with anything? I read that during the colonoscopy they take small tissue of the site of inflammattion and send it for biopsy. It looks like I have some type of IBD but not sure what yet...

I haven't had a colonoscopy. They thought I had ibd but stool tests level were not elevated for it. The mucus is always there . Blood is small amounts on stool which I'm putting down to internal heamorroids as blood tests didnt detect internal bleeding .. driving g me insane . Whst are your stools like as when I googled ibd it says alot of diarrhoea and pain in tummy

Mine look normal consistency but with blood on the cracks of the stool, one time I went and there was just this bloody mucus comming out without any stool. Recently things are getting better and I have very little blood but experience urgency feel I think they call it tenesmus. Feeling as if I need a bowel movement all the time. Surgeon that I saw told me it is because of the inflammation in the colon. You should get to a GI or Colorectal Surgeon so they can do digital rectal exam and at least sigmoidoscopy to rule out hemorrhoids and they might even see the ulcers or inflammation if you do have IBD. Also I do not have stomach pain or if I do it's just once in couple of months but at the beggining stages there might not be any stomach pain with IBD, just mucus and blood. Hope its just hemorrhoids you are dealing with.

Hi my mom also had that symptoms where she feel like she's gonna poop but only blood clots comes off, she has external hemorrhoids but they said that if it's from hemorroids it's fresh blood. I'm really worried for her ㅠ.ㅠ

Tosr profile image
Tosr in reply tonieldy

Hello, she should get checked by a specialist. If its blood clots and no mucus it could be hemorrhoids but internal ones. I almost never go to the doctor but sometimes there is no choice, especially when dealing with blood coming out of your rectum.

nieldy in reply toTosr

when she went to a doctor, the doctor said she has grade 3 external hemorrhoids and put her finger on my mom's butt hole and said that there's something inside, she didn't said it's internal hemorrhoids and she said that she should try colonoscopy, I've been stressed and crying bc of worrying. we're going on Tuesday to have an appointment for colonoscopy i really hope it's just the hemorroids

Following as I have almost the exact same symptoms for the past 2 years , colonoscopy last year in February with perfect results no polyps or any signs of any problems wich Is is hard to hear as the symptoms have returned a number of occasions now (hence me coming here) i can go for months with no symptoms wich unfortunately stops me from following up with GP as I'm lazy , but with it returning again I think it's time to see a specialist

Curios on your results best of luck everyone

Hi Robbie

I had a colonoscopy at the end of 2017 which was perfect too but are getting these symptoms now. I have colitis do you? My consultant has said it’s extremely unlikely to be cancer due to the colonoscopy result as apparently it generally

Takes years

Nina1983 profile image
Nina1983 in reply to32malewithcolitis

Do u have tummy pain with your colitis

32malewithcolitis profile image
32malewithcolitis in reply toNina1983

Occasionally. I notice it more in a morning but seems to ease after passing. More of a sore than a pain I’d say

Robbieo_07 profile image
Robbieo_07 in reply to32malewithcolitis

Just got a confirmation on my gastroenterology appt for the 18th/5

I feel like it is colitis

But hopefully I can confirm that in short time

Are your symptoms manageable?

32malewithcolitis profile image
32malewithcolitis in reply toRobbieo_07

Are you diagnosed with colitis? I’ve had it since I was 6, now 32. Not had many flares. Last one was 11 years ago. I took a stool sample in I’m February as I started noticing mucus and it came back raised for inflammation so had steroids which I’ve finished now.

I took a new sample in a week before finishing steroids and it had gone back

To normal levels

I’m still getting discomfort and soreness, mainly lower right but can be all over. Not unbearable and don’t need pain relief for it.

Can’t tell if I can see mucus as I’m on suppositories at night which take over most of the stool in a morning and that’s the only time I noticed mucus before

I had a colitis late 2017 and they used the blue dye so my consultant has said its highly unlikely to be anything serious and seemed shocked I thought that. Maybe it usually takes longer to develop I don’t know? But it does worry you

Robbieo_07 profile image
Robbieo_07 in reply to32malewithcolitis

Hey, I have done many stool samples blood tests and a colonoscopy but no diagnosis yet , my pain sounds fairly similar as it's not terrible just lingers and feels odd in my left side a bit of cramping here and there

did you often see blood when you had your flare ups??

Hope everything is well with you now

32malewithcolitis profile image
32malewithcolitis in reply toRobbieo_07

I didn’t see blood just mucus. But do have colitis so it’s likely to be due to that but i have health anxiety which doesn’t help.

Do you have IBD?

my mom is having the same symptoms for almost 2 years, but couldn't do colonoscopy at the moment because of the pandemic. how are you feeling??? are you in pain?

Hello everyone I have not been online much. Sometimes its loose stools, sometimes mixed, loose with solid pieces. It's very weird. They pushed my colonoscopy for next month. Now they say it would be on May 22...

Very frustrating. I still experience bleeding daily but only with a bowel movements, usually once or twice a day. Good luck to all and hopefully soon there is an official diagnosis.

Hi Tosr ..cant believe your still waiting. I'm still gettin this blood and mucus. Every bowel movement. I'm trying to increase fibre to see if any help. I dont have pain at all. Blood bright red or if mixed with mucus looks brown. Sometimes I can just pass mucus and blood if pressuring down. Really bizarre

Robbieo_07 profile image
Robbieo_07 in reply toNina1983

Same for me during this episode , literally just mucus and blood , how is your pain ? For me I just get like a glowing discomfort in my lower left abdomin for most of the day and mild cramping before and after bowel movements.

Nina1983 profile image
Nina1983 in reply toRobbieo_07

Hi Robbieo. No tummy pain here ..I have back pressure. Lower. I've always suffered with bad back so not sure if linked or my mind going crazy. But blood and mucus most BM. Sometimes I can just pass gas in the toilet and still get it. It's so odd

Hey just wondering if all went ok today

Tosr profile image
Tosr in reply toNina1983

Hello again. I am in Northeast US and almost all medical procedures are back to normal.

I finally went to my colonoscopy. Initial diagnosis is pancolitis, but need to wait for the biopsy to come. Also was prescribed mesalamine.

I did have a feeling that it would be some type of colitis. Not very happy with the outcome but it could be worse. However it feels good to finally get some answers.

Procedure itself was a breeze, was knocked out and do not remember a thing. However the prep is bad. You are literally peeing from you butt and it gave me very bad hemorrhoids.

Please keep us updated. I will continue coming and updating how things are going with medication, diet symptoms etc.

Hopefully you will be able to get an appointment soon and get answers for your symptoms!

Oh I'm glad you didnt feel a thing .. I'm in the UK and think they only offer sedation. I've not heard of pan colitis unless you mean procitis.. which is a mild form of ulcerative colitis. Gettin hold of my GP has been v hard . I've been taken suppositories for heamorroids as I'm hoping its that and touch wood bleeding is easing. Apparently it helps with colitis . So I'm pretty certain I do have one or the other now ..

Tosr profile image
Tosr in reply toNina1983

I think proctitis is just in the rectum are and they told me pancolitis affects the whole colon, both are type of UC but just different forms. I just have ordered cicatridina suppositories for hemorrhoids but like you said they are supposed to help with proctitis which is good. They use propofol sedation but I went to sleep in seconds.

I will start taking the pills soon and post updates. Keep in touch.
