I’ve been referred to oncology by my go but no idea what tests they will do as I haven’t been asked to do an enema or special diet - I was expecting a colonoscopy
What tests do they do?: I’ve been... - Colon Cancer Conn...
What tests do they do?
At my first appointment the consultant asked lots of questions and basically took my history. He also did a physical examination...felt my tummy and inside my rectum. He then arranged for me to have a colonoscopy and I was given the moviprep sachets and instructions as to when/how to take them etc which I had to have the night before the procedure. You won’t have a colonoscopy at your first appointment as they need to go through the process with you first.
With me it was the camera down the throat to the stomach first which was all clear. What found it was the camera (colonoscopy) from the other end. If its early doors they I believe can remove growths before they turn cancerous, unfortunately for me it was too late for that and I needed an op to remove the tumours.
