So yesterday I receive a letter to go for a CT of my chest/abdomen. The same consultant who did my colonoscopy has requested this. Is this just routine? Does anyone know? I last had a CT scan on my chest/abdomen the day after I was told it was cancer which was beginning of September. I hope it’s all just routine..

CT scan

Hi I was told by my consultant that I’d have CT scans every 6 months for 5 years after my diagnosis in addition to having a yearly colonoscopy.
If there’s any suspicions they’ll do the scan on those areas - I had it done prior surgery and came back all good 🙏 good luck
Thanks. I’d my operation back in August. I had an appointment with a nurse for my stoma and I asked her about it. She’s assured me it routine. My situation they have never come across before so they are keeping a close eye on me.
The current reviews are every 6 months for the CEA blood test. In addition they do a colonoscopy and CT annually . If after 2 years clear they feel confident , they move you onto patient led monitoring which means the third CT scan etc is after 5 years or earlier if you have signs eg CEA more than 5.0
