I have now started my treatment journey with ibrutinib Also been given Septrin, Antiviral and folic acid tablets. I have only been on them for 2 days but feeling fine, bit of a fuzzy head. The only other problem is I seem to be urinating more especially at night. Had anyone else experienced this and is it normal with these medications

Hello Davjb. I had to increase my water intake when taking ibrutinib to the recommended 8 t0 10 glasses a day. That made me pee more. So if you have increased your water intake, it could be as simple as that. I took my ibrutinib in the morning so as not to have to get up and pee so much after going to bed.

The actual label for ibrutinib contains contradictory side effects in that regard, one side effects being to urinate less frequently and the other being an urge to urinate more frequently. So I guess ibrutinib could cause one to pee more, but if you have increased water intake I would think that’s more likely it. Good luck.

Hi Thanks for the info. I take mine at night so that could be the reason. Hopefully the side effects will diminish as the body gets used to the drugs

was on it for eight wonderful years until I lost efficacy. A great drug the side affects I found was inflammation on joints but with fluids and ibuprofen this did the job. I wish you many good years to enjoy on it!

I've been on 420 mg of ibrutinib for 5 years - I'm 65. I was astonished how quickly my fatigue vanished and my general feeling of well been returned - 2 days! I too have been urinated more at night but I thought that was more age related. Now I avoid any liquids, outside of water, after 6 PM. That has helped me sleep through the night without having to get up to urinate. Like cajunjeff I take mine pills in the morning with water - and often with psyllium husks
