B cell lymphoma lumps

skipro profile image

I was just reviewing a post about a P cell lymphoma that someone had in there neck or upper lower jaw.

I've had about six or seven lumps under the skin on my chest and abdomen for several years and wondered if they could harbor any B cell lymphoma or residual CLL

They did not shrink after 18 months of V

I've been debating for a while whether to get them removed to see.

Has anyone else had these types of subcutaneous lumps that turned out to have anything to do with CLL?

Thank you so much

Hi skipro,

I have no medical training ( and learned recently that you are a physician) but when docs biopsied my thicker than normal colon walls, they found CLL cells.

Then several skin biopsies showed significan CLL & T cells in my dermis at the sites of plaque psoriasis like artifacts.

So this mechanical engineer would expect that your lumps could also have CLL cells in them, but as in my case, no one can tell me why they are there, and if they are a cause or effect of the abnormal results.

Hello skipro

I have had two cysts. Both, one gulf ball cyst removed and biopsied and shown as benign, second almond size cyst removed and biopsied as benign. Both were just under the skin.

How do the lumps look under ultrasound, CT, MRI imaging? Could the lumps be scar tissue in lymph nodes that will remain without evolving into problems? Are they less than 2 cm or impinging on nerves or blood vessels, etc.?

There were a couple of posts a few years ago where someone described scar tissue lumps remaining after uMRD results of treatment that included BTKi as part of the regime.

Thx

They are all sub Cut, mobile, in areas that are not common to lymph nodes, and not near areas of previous injury except for one.

If they are new (not stable, not changing for years), seems like a good idea to have it checked by your CLL specialist. Pathology and/or a PET scan on the lumps could be helpful if there is some thing that should be treated.

Thx

CLL specialist doesn't think much about them and they aren't growing or changing.

Hi Skipro, following a v bad fall I had a triple malleolar (foot pointing behind me) break which had to be “reduced” twice. This involved one guy hanging on to my leg above the knee while the other tried to twist the foot back into place. About a week or 10 days afterwards I developed an egg shaped lump above the knee. Biopsy showed it to be a Myxoma ie benign. I was delighted when it went away last year. At the time I was on V&O but I didn’t make a connection with that and the lump. However, it’s back, and it has occurred to me that it was probably the drugs that caused it to shrink almost to vanishing point. Does that make sense? I’m unmutated Wild Type SLL.

Awe sorry about the ankle. I've fixed a ton of those over my 40 year career. So you have my empathy.

Question, did they completely remove the lump with the biopsy? And it then grew back?

Or did they just take a small piece and the rest went away with V and O?

it seemed to me they took quite a few bits of it, but it carried on thriving anyway. Then it went down pretty much to seed level during V& O. I could always feel the core of it, so to speak, but it did literally disappear almost to vanishing point during chemo then returned full of beans after that.

I would suggest what is call an" excisional" biopsy which means they take it all out because it is probably benign. That way its gone, and you'll have an accrurate diagnosis.

Thank you, Skipro, I’ll mention that to my docs.
