B cell lymphocytosis

Hi. I’m getting closer to a diagnosis. My dr stated they are waiting for one more test and after that result they MAY have a dx of B cell lymphocitosis. Which I’m assuming is going to probably lead to CLL at some point. Does anyone on here know much about this dx as far as outcomes of other people that have this and how quickly they may have progressed to CLL. Just looking for info not a diagnosis just FYI. Thank you

Yes I read this and I had to kind of pull things out of my dr as I’m not dumb and research a lot and I knew it could possibly lead to that. I am sorry anyone has to deal with any cancer it is horrific. I hope you’re doing well and things go well for you and hopes for a cure everyday.

It was a shock to me as didnt really know anything util i was diagnosed. However 3 years down line i have accepted it. I cant change what i have so decided not to stress about it. What will be will be. A positive mental attitude does help.

Hi Jenny,

That makes more sense as there is a pre CLL condition called MBL or Monoclonal B cell Lymphocytosis.

MBL consist of two groups: low-count MBL which has blood B-cell counts less than 0.5x9 cells/liter (i.e. 0.5x9/L), whereas high-count MBL has blood B-cell counts greater than 0.5x9/L but <5x109/L. While low-count MBL generally does not progress to a malignant disease, high-count MBL does so at a rate of 1-2% of patients per year.

The wikipedia is quite helpful: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mon...

I do think it's worth getting screened for Hep B & C as that is more common in patients with MBL and it would be important to know if you were positive so that you can have treatment for the hepatitis.

I hope this helps

Thank you so much. So I was tested for all the hepatitis b c stds hiv as I work in medical and when I went for my female exam I asked for all of that to be tested since I was there and I deal with blood ect. That all came back normal so I’m good there. So I got a little nerve when he called because he said it was possibly mlus and if in the event it turned Into anything it could either be mantel cell or CLL He just called and the 11:14 was negative so if it ever does turn Into any cancer it would be CLL. At this point I could deal and cope with that. So hopefully for me this is all great news. I’m to repeat labs in 2 months.

He told me today that the 11:14 was negative so if it ever progresses into anything it would be the CLL but he has a good feeling it won’t. Just observation for now. So this is all good news right?!?!? You’ve been very helpful
