High B12, high neutrophils

Hi,

I am blessed to be almost 10 years without treatment but due to low Hgb of 11.3 and low RBCs of 3.78, my oncologist wants another blood draw in 2 months and to talk treatment options. Thanks for the information this group provides. I haven't had any reasons to post until now.

Oddly enough, this past blood draw, my neutrophils, monocytes and eosinophils were all high for the first time. I have been under a tremendous amount of stress the last 2 months, having lost my sister/best friend to lung cancer on 11/22/24. I read that stress can elevate parts of our WBCs so maybe this is what is going on? I have not recently been sick.

My WBCs jumped from 118 to 145 in 3 months and my lymphocytes from 114 to 130.

My B12 has also been high for the last couple years (around 1100). I take a multi vitamin (250 mcg B12) but only 3 days per week and have been doing this for a long time. B12 has always been normal until recent years.

Anyway, has anyone else had high B12 or high readings for the other parts of our WBCs (non-lymphocytes)?

Thanks, Debra

I was recently diagnosed with CLL, and my recent B12 number was 1099. The doctor didn't mention it when discussing the results of the labs, but the lab flagged it as high. The high B12 lab is particularly surprising since I have another condition which usually results in low B12 and often requires B12 supplements or injections. I do not take any B12 supplements, but do take a daily multivitamin.

if you are supplementing your B12 levels in any way then your B12 will be higher than ‘normal‘so this is nothing to worry about at all. Your other results just need monitoring every few months and I would be surprised if they don’t settle again.
