I’m at month 7 of O&V and have been pretty good so far. Blood was all in the normal range two weeks ago. I tested positive for Covid next day (two weeks ago) no high temp no cough. The last week I’ve had what I think are night sweats- never had them before - my neck area and groin sweat heavier than normal once a night. Anyone had anything like this? Should I be calling my oncologist?

night sweats ?
Hello Swansecity. I would report to your doctor that you have night sweats on your next visit, or even before if you will not see your doctor for a while and the night sweats persist. But I would not read whole lot into occasional night sweats, unless they are persistent and progressive. If O+V is your first Cll treatment, and you are only 7 months into your treatment protocol, I would think it is highly unlikely your night sweats are an indication that your cll is progressing.
I had bad night sweats as I neared treatment. My labs have been good the last few years, but I still get night sweats now and then.
If you are unsure as to whether any odd symptom is cll related and that a delay in reporting it to your doctor could worsen things, I would err on the side of caution and call your doctor, even though as a general rule cll is typically a slow moving cancer that doesnt usually require immediate action.
Unfortunately night sweats are a part of CLL, I have had 3 front line treatments since 2010 and each time I've got close to treatment the sweats have returned, especially the orion area. I'm currently on 4 weekly IV immunotherapy and whilst have bad night sweats, my bloods are looking good. Luke a previous writer has said if it's giving concern go see your doctor. My consultant with my symptoms and my blood work is not worried, but we are all different so be sure for you. Good wishes.
I had a few drenching night sweats before treatment with V+O. These were sufficiently often and bad enough to have me sleeping on a towel and would require a change of towel. Moderate sweats were common in early morning and not during the night but the back of my thigh would leave a wet patch as I rolled out of bed.
All sweats stopped at first dose of Obinutuzumab. Oddly, I went 18 months from Dx and through V+O without any infections.
After treatment I have had 3 drenching night sweats. All were related to infections, one infection lasted 5 weeks and took 2 courses of antibiotics.
I have to sleep with my feet uncovered or I get sweaty in the morning.

How often do you check your temperature? Sweating sometimes happens with fever, even mild ones.

Our temperature usually also varies throughout the day in a fairly predictable pattern, hitting a max in the evening. Sickness can exacerbate and extend the peaks. Circadian rhythm can be disturbed by sleeping during the day and lack of sunlight.

Unlike you, I live in the Gulf south of the U.S. where humidity is a huge factor. Small changes to the wall thermostat can result in me sweating at night because light perspiration fails to cool me off when the dew point is near ambient temperature.
So I would not assume that it's due to CLL. Mention it to your hemo/onco, though. And keep a log of body temperature at night and occasions of sweating.

hi,
I’m on month 5 of V+O and I too am getting some night sweats. My numbers are a little below normal. My oncology NP was concerned that my night sweats were still happening a couple of times a week. I’m only on 200mg of Venetoclax due to low neutrophils. I wonder if that’s what causing the sweats to continue. I keep asking for the full dose but they’re concerned about the neutrophils.
Sounds silly I know but I have never been able to distinguish between night sweats and hot flushes. I have never had to change my sheets or sleep on a towel but have felt hot more so since I finished treatment. I had Covid during treatment for the first time but no sweats.
