Attended our local pharmacy for our COVID vaccine today. I was of the understanding that NHS England has stated that close contacts of immunocompromised could have the vaccine. However, I was told this was not the case, so she could not have the COVID vaccine.
Is she eligible?

Ah that’s pretty slick of them Robert and your wife loses out by 3 yrs ☹️ Are they making a distinction between the Covid vaccine and the booster? Frankly it’s not very clear. Perhaps she could pay to have the jab? I understand it starts at approx £45 privately.
I must admit I haven’t even arranged to have my own Covid or flu vaccinations yet being in post operative recovery but will need to sort it.
As Newdawn says there is the private option, and I know Boots are advertising it, or try booking online with a different chemist to see if she is accepted. Has she had the flu vaccine yet because they are being offered together. 🤞
Robert, I was told the same by my GP. My husband has always had the flu and covid jabs. This year, I was told he still qualifies for the flu jab, which he had, but he doesn't for the covid jab. This only happened last week when I had my covid vaccine. I'm planning on asking my immunologist when I have my next appointment but having read the guidance above, it seems that's correct. It's so silly, honestly, we need all the protection we can get, it is just a money saving exercise.
