Hi Pekingese,

I also got COVID last week and right away started paxlovid. Unfortunately, it interacts with so many other medications and you need to stop the other meds to prevent dangerous interactions. I ended up in ED two night ago for observation. I have never been in ED for the past 12 years of my CLL journey. I stopped my paxlovid after 3.5 days. I was told there is another oral treatment for COVID that they prescribe to patients which is not as effective as paxlovid. If anyone is on blood thinners I highly suggest look into it.

I hope you feel better soon.

Oh that must of been scary, I was told to stop the Statins till 3 days after the Plaxoid I’m not on any other medication, they did check me health records for any kidney problems but they seemed ok. You just don’t know how these drugs are going to affect you. Are you on blood thinners? Hope you are on the mend best wishes Ros

Don't forget to take your blood pressure, heart rate, and your O2 saturation at least twice a day (morning/night) and whenever you feel REALLY bad - if any get out of whack, call your doc back immediately.

Do the same if you can't eat anything at all and/or you can't keep fluids down (aka, they are right in and right out).

Thank you, Doctor did tell me to check my Sats they are much better now, they did drop to 92 but back to 98 I haven’t checked my blood pressure. I will check now thank you again. Ros

Hi, I have Plaxoid in the cupboard, had Covid multiple times., never used Plaxoid because of the side effects. Managed my 5 of my infections with paracetamol and stopping my Acalabeutinib. Delta put me in hospital but that was before Plaxoid and primarily to monitor my platelets. Hope u feel better soon

To be honest with you Steve it’s put me off taking it again.

Obviously, if I thought deteriorating with Covid I will take it , last covid infections have been. I am 60 and a full time dad to my 6 and 4 Yr olds so Covid is routine in our house.

You have your hands full, it’s good you have the drugs just Incase . They did help with my symptoms pretty quick . It was just the nasty side effects .

Got to say whilst it 'worked' in that I didn't deteriorate further once I had the paxlovid, its a nasty little drug and I felt terrible whilst taking it. Also I didn't begin taking it within the prescribed timeframe because of a muck up with the NHS hotline and the hospital. Not sure that made much difference. Do hope you feel better soon.

I tested one day as I felt of colour then tried against the following day and it was positive, i took the plaxiod on that day, I don’t know if I would take it again it is nasty. I’m not feeling as nausea now thank goodness just feel exhausted 🥱

I can sympathize! I’m on day 10 of fighting COVID. I took Paxlovid for the 5 days and tested negative on the day after finishing. Two days later symptoms are back with a positive test. Rebound COVID😭. At least I’m back on Imbruvica. I hope you have a quick turnaround and feel better soon. I keep thinking everyday is closer to recovery!
