Smelly sweats

I have been on wait and watch for over 10 years and though constantly reading views of all of you, I haven't felt the need yet to post anything because there hasn't really been any discomfort yet in my case. Just a couple of weeks back my wife noticed that my clothes had a distinct smell - not very bad but surely not good. This may have been discussed before. But just needed your views on this.

I am not used to drinking water, but now I'm trying to consume more water during the day.

Your experience will help me

Thanks

Interesting post … wonder if the bad smell thing is yet another quirky CLL driven thing (like night sweats)?

Wonder if many others here on this forum has unfortunately experienced (or their significant other has told them about) the “bad smell” thing?

Hope you find a remedy (or others have) n if so, please share with us!

Yes for a long time my bath towel smells even though I only shower. I used to have a fresh towel twice a week, but need a fresh one every time now. The other thing that happens is my pee and poop smell really bad too, it’s a small price to pay I suppose. The funny thing is I don’t seem to have body odour! Mike

I was diagnosed with three cancers within three months - CLL, breast cancer and ET. During the few months following I had a nasty body odour that was totally unique to anything I had experienced before and something I could do nothing about (though I was the only one that really noticed it) . It lasted about four months - until my breast cancer had been dealt with. I also felt very physically cold during that time, when usually I run very hot. Stress? Something else?

Dogs can be trained to smell cancer. Also, I suddenly became irresistible to mosquitoes a year or two before being diagnosed with CLL. They say mosquitoes can smell their meal…..There are many quirks to CLL that the doctors shrug their shoulders.

Marthand, oh, yes, my body odor became bad the year before I was diagnosed. I've often thought there could be a connection. Since diagnosis, I've increased water intake, which was really needed, and began to work at reducing any anxiety inducing thoughts or activities and am better at nutrition. I realized I was responsible for the task of strengthening my overall health to give my body a better chance to keep CLL in a manageable position. The odor has diminished completely. The CLL is still with me(4 years now)and slowly worsening my labs, (never in treatment), but I FEEL BETTER physically and spiritually! This is an encouraging forum! Thank you all! :) Sandra

Sandra well said! I have increased my water intake now and am pretty confident my issue should be solved. Yes and as you said I am not a bit worried about it, just that it was something I and my wife suddenly realised and then I put up the post.I have never discussed my CLL with anyone. But I am extremely happy that I have a great set of friends and knowledgeable people to support me in this forum

Thanks again
